Arrived in Phoenix at 11:00AM. Quick shuttle to the car rental agency and then onto the highway to Prescott. The first 30-40 minutes took us through Phoenix and then there was less traffic on the highway and beautiful vistas of surrounding mountains. Mostly all desert and some small towns along the way. On the ride up we had a call from the real estate agent with whom we have an appointment for tomorrow at 11:00am.
Drove thru Prescott Valley before entering Prescott. This main highway resembles the Boston Post Road in Orange. Everything is there...Lowes, Home Depot, Banks, every fast food you would ever want, Target, Trader Joe's, Sams, Costco, Kohls, etc.
We drove by Trader Joes in Prescott and the Gateway Mall on our way to our hotel. We will stop by these places later. Drove by Bucky's Casino (don't think I'll have time for that this trip!)
We grabbed a bite to eat at a place called "Murphy's" in historic downtown Prescott. We are too tired to walk around today, but will do so during our stay. I did notice several Antique stores in the area which will be fun to visit also. Had a nice meal at Murphy's. I had a bacon, cheese burger and garlic mash potatoes and a Blue Moon. B had a fish called sand-dab (it is like tilapia) and a small salad and glass of wine. Murphy's is a registered national historic building with a beautiful tin ceiling.
After our lunch/dinner we stopped at Albertson's supermarket and got some water, powerade, more cold medicine and someone needed a piece of carrot cake for the room.
The weather today is great. Low 70's, nice breeze, blue sky.
Did not take many pictures today, but here are a few. More tomorrow.
